FCT's new Minister Wike's mission to restore the integrity of the parks in Abuja should be supported by all Nigerians. In fact, all our local governments should create Community Parks for people in their areas.
Today in Ankara, we were hosted at a Picnic by a family who
lived in an apartment complex. The park was within the city center and was full of families.
This serves as an excellent example of a country where national parks are utilized as a community social responsibility. From promoting education and awareness to boosting local economies, Turkiye showcases how national parks can benefit society as a whole. Nigeria, with its diverse natural resources and rich biodiversity, can learn valuable lessons from Turkiye's successful approach to national parks.
